Industrial Designer

Onsite Industrial Designer

Apex Systems is looking to hire an Onsite Industrial Designer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC. This assignment is anticipated to be a 12 month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This will also have a first shift MondayFriday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Propose and develop design solutions that communicate a clear product message and distinct brand identity.
• Create 2D and 3D concepts (e.g., sketches, drawings, visual artifacts) based on provided inputs.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary product design team to develop concepts from ideation through production.
• Contribute to both interior and exterior design projects.
• Support junior team members and peers through mentorship and coaching.
• Share knowledge and promote continuous learning within the team.
• Build a broad skillset while deepening expertise in core design disciplines.
• Work confidently across organizational networks to influence design outcomes.
• Clearly articulate the value created within the design and business areas.

Experience

Required:

• Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in product design.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D sketching tools.
• Experience with design software such as Blender, Alias, and KeyShot.
• Strong conceptual thinking and ability to translate ideas into visual and functional designs.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in developing designs for production.

Preferred:

• Experience in transportation or industrial design sectors.
• Familiarity with brand identity development and product messaging.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior designers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present design concepts effectively.
