The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering the highest level of patient-centered care while adhering to ethical and legal frameworks established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association. You will exemplify leadership, collaboration, and effective communication to ensure quality outcomes in your practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care that emphasizes a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, integrating cultural and diversity considerations into your practice.
• Collect and analyze patient data to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement and coordinate care delivery while promoting health and a safe environment through education and support.
• Evaluate patient progress toward expected health outcomes and adjust care plans as needed.
• Engage in ethical practices, communicate effectively, and collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient care.
• Lead within your professional setting, while pursuing ongoing education and integrating evidence-based practices into your nursing approach.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification required within one month of hire.

EXPERIENCE

• Foundational job description for RNs; encouraged advancement through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

LICENSURE

• Must be a licensed and registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.

SPECIAL SKILLS

• All RNs are encouraged to pursue advancement through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

• Requires prolonged standing and walking, along with the use of sight, hearing, and touch. Potential exposure to infectious diseases and challenging patient conditions. Capability to assist in lifting and moving patients ranging from five to three hundred pounds may be necessary.
