Hospitalist - Part Time

Hospitalist Position

We are seeking a part time hospitalist to join our elite team. The schedule is part time-12 hour shifts, 6 am to 6 pm. There is no call schedule. The EMR system used is Sunrise. The facility is Ascension St. Vincent located in Anderson, Indiana.

Practice/Position Highlights:

• 12 hour shifts 6am-6pm/91 shifts per year
• Open ICU with in-house intensivist
• Procedures are optional
• Experienced group of tenured hospitalists and nocturnists

Responsibilities:

• Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Requirements:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
