Responsibilities

• Standards of Practice: The RN's practice is guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice. Key components involve:
• Assessment: Collect relevant health data and information.
• Diagnosis: Analyze assessment data for potential health issues.
• Outcomes Identification: Establish expected outcomes tailored to each patient's needs.
• Planning: Develop and adjust individualized care plans.
• Implementation: Carry out the care plan efficiently.
• Coordination of Care: Manage transitions and ongoing care delivery.
• Health Teaching and Promotion: Encourage health and safety practices.
• Evaluation: Assess progress towards achieving outcomes.
• Standards of Professional Performance: The RN is expected to demonstrate competent professional behavior, including:
• Ethics: Practice ethically and with integrity.
• Culturally Congruent Practice: Honor cultural diversity in care.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication within all aspects of care.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required; BSN is preferred. All newly hired RNs must possess current BCLS certification or obtain it within one month of joining.

Experience: Registered Nurse experience is essential; all RNs are encouraged to progress through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

Licensure: Candidates must be licensed and currently registered as a Nurse in Connecticut; clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.

Special Skills: All RNs are encouraged to engage in the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

Physical Demand: This role requires prolonged standing, walking, and the use of sight, hearing, and touch. Exposure to infectious diseases and various patient health conditions is expected. Candidates must be physically able to assist with patient mobility, including lifting patients weighing between five to three hundred pounds.
