As a pivotal part of our healthcare team, the Registered Nurse (RN) will uphold our mission, vision, and values to deliver the highest standard of patient-centered care. The RN role is defined by professionalism, leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to quality outcomes, all within the legal and ethical guidelines set by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and associated nursing standards.

The RN will provide care that:

• Respects and values patients' preferences, expressed needs, and knowledge of their healthcare situations.

Responsibilities

• STANDARDS OF PRACTICE: RN practice follows the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, addressing key components like assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination, health teaching, and evaluation.
• STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE: These standards define professional behavior, highlighting ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, professional evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification is required within one month of hire.

EXPERIENCE: All RNs are encouraged to grow through our SPIRE clinical advancement program.

LICENSURE: Must be a licensed and registered nurse in the State of Connecticut; clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.

SPECIAL SKILLS: All RNs are encouraged to seek advancement via the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

PHYSICAL DEMAND: The position requires prolonged standing and walking; exposure to infectious diseases and emotional situations is common. Candidates must be able to assist with patients weighing between five (5) to three hundred (300) pounds and navigate various physical demands throughout the day.
