Livermore Sanitation , a Waste Connections company, is seeking a dedicated Heavy Truck Mechanic to enhance our team!

This position operates Monday through Friday from 12pm to 8:30pm, with opportunities for overtime.

The compensation for this role is competitively set at $52.64/hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance services efficiently. Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Utilize vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and determine necessary repairs.
Maintain accurate records and documentation using fleet maintenance software for repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
Review and address repairs noted in Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Perform safety inspections on vehicles and equipment.
Provide on-site service calls for emergency breakdowns.
A Class B CDL is preferred, or the ability to obtain it in the future.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
Maintain a clean driving record.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English; high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities.
Welding experience is desirable.
Must provide personal tools.
