nWe are searching for the best talent for our Graduate Engineer Accelerated Rotational Program (GEAR).
nPurpose: The Graduate Engineer Accelerated Rotational (GEAR) program looks to develop early in career talent to gain hands-on experience and build an encouraging network! This role will support our Global Technical Operations (GTO) team within the Ethicon franchises. nGEAR is a two-year entry level rotational program to develop a pipeline of technical leaders for Ethicon. It offers unique, technically focused experiences across the three Ethicon franchises: Endomechanical-Energy, Wound Closure & Healing, and Biosurgery. This key role provides an opportunity to bring significant improvements to Ethicon products and processes, while also providing the opportunity for significant professional growth within the technical track. You will have the opportunity to support and learn about several product families and make our mission of innovating patient care a reality.
nIn GTO, our team is on the forefront of technology in the medical device industry. Our engineering staff collaborates with R&D teams, multiple Manufacturing sites, and Suppliers to develop/maintain robust component designs and manufacturing processes to ensure our patients get the products they need when they need them.

- The opportunity to build technical depth via various technical curriculums. Curriculum(s) may include, but may not be limited to:n

n - The opportunity to spend a guaranteed minimum of 8 months (maximum 16 months) working in an Ethicon Manufacturing Site. n
- Combine on-the-job experience with technical, leadership & personal development training. n
- Rotational assignments across multiple NA/US sites that deliver real and impactful business results. n
- Exposure to multiple Ethicon products and manufacturing processes (Endomechanical-Energy, Wound Closure & Healing, Biosurgery). n
- Global networking and virtual collaboration with fellow associates around the world. n
- Building technical skills in many areas, including process development, manufacturing operations, quality and regulatory compliance, project management, and product/process improvement methodologies (six sigma, lean, design excellence). n
You will be responsible for:

- Conducting assignments within an assigned technical curriculum based on business needs, project criticality, and/or prior experience. Example assignments include, but are not limited to:n
- n
- Process Design, Development, and/or implementation at selected site(s). n
- Manufacturing Operations Support. n
- Manufacturing Operations Improvements. n
- Site improvement initiatives (i.e. Construction and installation support for new manufacturing technology). n
- Lifecycle management support for existing base business products with cross-functional partners. n
n - Demonstrating leadership imperatives. n
- Taking ownership of project outcomes. n
- Learning and applying skills. n
- Supporting transition processes between assignments. n
- Providing feedback and recommendations on program effectiveness. n
Qualifications / Requirements:
n- n

Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements.

A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Engineering related field obtained between May 2025 and June 2026.
n -
A minimum of 3 months of work experience, inclusive of co-op, internship, and post-graduate employment.
n -
Interest in cross-franchise engineering assignments within Ethicon.
n -
Geographic flexibility within continental United States and Puerto Rico over the course of the GEAR Program, up to and including final placement upon graduation from the program. (Relocation assistance provided where applicable)

Eligible to begin full-time employment with J&J by the assigned start date in June 2026.

Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

- Good basis in statistical analysis of data – e.g. experience with Minitab tool (or equivalent). n

nThe anticipated base pay range for this position is:
n$85,300.00.
nAdditional Description for Pay Transparency:
nThe Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. This position is eligible for a sign-on and/or early incentive bonus. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program. Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year. Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year. Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
