We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Grader Operator to join our team at a steel mill in Decatur, AL. This role involves operating heavy equipment to grade and maintain the steel landfill area on-site. The position is primarily outdoors in a hot, dirty, and active manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate grader equipment to level and maintain landfill areas used for steel byproducts.
• Drive and maneuver equipment safely across uneven terrain within the facility.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the grader.
• Work closely with site supervisors to ensure grading meets operational standards.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience operating a grader or similar heavy equipment.
• Ability to work in hot, dusty, and physically demanding outdoor conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to and from the Decatur site.
• Must be able to work 4050 hours per week, starting at 6:30 AM.

Work Environment

The work is primarily outdoors in a hot and active manufacturing environment. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Working hours are from 6:30 AM, with a requirement to work 4050 hours per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Trinity, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
