Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Geotechnical Dam Safety Engineer to join the East Region Dams Team. This position will support a variety Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities. This position will report to the AECOM office in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist and perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management.
• Provide support for construction activities including Resident Engineering services, construction observations, quality assurance, documentation, project correspondence, and client communication.
• Provide support for projects including seepage and slope stability analyses, filter and drain design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspections, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic structures.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects.
• Develop engineering proposals.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states.
• Relevant experience with dams and other hydraulic structures, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
• Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote. Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
• Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering, and related fields
• Knowledge and experience in performing inspection, design, and/or resident engineering activities in dams or water retaining structures
