nSAIC is seeking a Payload Systems Engineer to support the NRO GEOINT System Integration & Architecture (GSIA) office. This is a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support position to assist in defining the future GEOINT space architecture. The candidate will support and lead GEOINT space capability studies focused on a specific payload sensor phenomenology. Qualified candidates must possess demonstrated GEOINT satellite payload technical expertise and be able to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
nKey duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research projects.
n n - n
Contributes to development of new principles and concepts.
n n - n
Participates with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
n n - n
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
n n - n
Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
n n - n
Work in an interactive team environment with Government customer leads and other subject matter experts to directly support GSIA as the office responsible for GEOINT space capability studies for the NRO.
n n - n
Participate in external, program office, and developer-sponsored forums (e.g., working groups, IPTs, and boards) to ensure GSIA program office equities are protected.

Assess payload technical performance and modeling and simulation results. Identify risks to program plans and schedules, and support development of acquisition plans.
n n - n
Assist with the execution of design trade studies. Evaluate system and architecture designs, as necessary, to determine if the proposed architecture and supporting system capabilities are adequate to meet the required performance thresholds.

Coordinate across Government teams to research, gather, conceptualize, identify, and capture architecture and system requirements.

Assist in managing requirements development, flow-down and traceability.

Support acquisition planning activities and document preparation for Government review and approval.
n n - n
Expect Travel within the U.S. approximately 10% of the time.

Qualifications
nRequired Education and Certifications:
n- n
- n
Bachelor of Science in Remote Sensing, Optical Engineering, Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Physics Experience with 10 years of experience; Masters and 8 years of experience; or PhD and 6 years of experience.

5 years experience in the Intelligence Community.

Proven technical expertise and communications skills that demonstrate the ability to interface with all levels.

Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and evaluations - making recommendations and providing professional advice and assistance to include preparing reports and presentation briefings.

Ability to apply technical expertise and summarize information/findings for presentation to Government leadership.
n n - n
Skilled/comfortable working in high-tempo environment, able to be flexible and to adjust to dynamic technical guidance.
