Gastroenterology Physician

Coverage Needed:

• Full-time, every week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Outpatient Clinic and GI Procedure Lab)
  • Start time for MAC blocks is 7:30am
• Must be available for at least one full week per month, ongoing
• No call requirements, closed on major holidays

Clinical Details:

• Outpatient Colonoscopy and EGD; GI Hospitalist will handle inpatient procedures
• ERCP and EUS skills are beneficial but not required
• 100% Adult, Geriatrics patient population
• Olympus scope and Provation reporting system (may change to Lumens in 2026)
• Open access endoscopy and clinic APPs feed the procedure schedule
• Bread and butter EGD/colon
• Procedure lab is a mix of CRNA coverage and procedural sedation using MAC criteria guidelines
• General GI currently has limited MAC time on the outpt side
• 30 minute for colon, 30-minute EGD, 45 minute for EGD/Colonoscopy as approximate times that will eventually move into real-time case averaging
• Sedation is procedure sedation or MAC based on criteria. Separate MAC blocks for patients that meet MAC criteria
• Support Staff: 6 full-time and 2 part-time Ambulatory APPs, RN and CMA/MA in clinic; RN and Surg tech in Procedures
• EMR System: EPIC
• Level I Trauma Center
• EMR: EPIC

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications
• Active IL Medical L:icense, DEA, & CS licenses - Highly Preferred
  • IMLC LOQ in hand is considered
• Clean and easy-to-credential candidates - Highly Preferred
• Must be available for at least one full week per month
