Position Overview:

Interstate Waste Services is actively looking for dedicated Garbage Collection Helpers to enhance our team. As a vital part of our operations, you will work Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday hours, starting as early as 5 AM.

Compensation:

• Hourly wage of $18.00, with overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently collect and load refuse from designated customer locations into the sanitation vehicle.
• Assist drivers with navigation and disposal tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
• Familiarize yourself with garbage collection routes to support the driver.
• Participate in training sessions and mandatory safety meetings.

Work Environment:

• You will spend most of your workday on the truck, either in the cab or on the back during collection.
• Physical stamina is required to consistently lift, push, and pull waste bags typically weighing 50-75+ lbs.

Requirements:

• Must meet physical standards mentioned above.
• At least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience in the sanitation industry is strongly preferred.
• A team-player attitude is essential due to close collaboration with other staff.
