Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care settings. Under the guidance of a registered nurse or physician, the LPN demonstrates clinical nursing knowledge and competency specific to the needs of residents.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes effectively.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals in an interdisciplinary team.
• Providing counseling to residents and their families on care and treatment plans.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program; an associate degree is preferred.
• Current unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing Board (multi-state licensure is an advantage).
• Completion of the required clinical experience, including IV therapy/management skills if applicable.
• Commitment to ongoing education including annual CEUs and competency training.
