Location Rockville Centre (Long Island) – Onsite 5x a week

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Financial Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Financial Operations by delivering financial analysis, operational reporting, budget support, and system maintenance using Strata Performance Management. This position is essential in driving performance improvement, financial accountability, and operational insight by collaborating with hospital leadership, clinical and administrative departments, and corporate finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for department managers, assisting with interpretation of bi-weekly labor and monthly non-labor financial variances.

• Act as a super-user and on-site resource for the Strata Performance Management system, offering system support and training to end users.

• Coordinate and support bi-weekly Productivity and Position Control meetings, including agenda preparation and data compilation.

• Assist Corporate Finance with system configuration and maintenance in Strata, including updates to user access, department/account structures, and unit-of-service mappings.

• Liaise between hospital departments and Corporate Finance to ensure consistent application of performance management processes and reporting standards.

• Support the month-end close process by reviewing accruals and collaborating with department managers to provide operational context.

• Resolve data integrity issues such as miscoded invoices, employees, or purchase orders.

• Oversee hospital department expense operating budgets, ensuring alignment with volume assumptions and promoting financial stewardship.

• Maintain the Strata capital budget system to ensure proper categorization of projects, accurate coding of capital expenditures, and correct application of funding sources.

• Support the Director of Financial Operations and hospital leadership in identifying margin improvement opportunities through decision support and costing analysis.

• Contribute to financial forecasts and budget models by preparing analyses and evaluating operational trends.

• Participate in initiatives to continuously improve hospital financial operations and performance outcomes using data from Strata and other decision support tools.

• Provide additional financial and operational support as assigned by the Director of Financial Operations or hospital leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience working as a financial analyst in healthcare or related field
• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables, index-match).
• Experience with Strata Decision Technology is needed
• At least 1 year of experience working in healthcare is needed

$100,000 to $115,000 per year annual salary.
