Key Position Details:
The provider provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations in an outpatient practice providing care to complex adult patients
- This position is primarily centered within the Abbott Northwestern Center for Outpatient Care clinic located near the intersection if I-494 and Hwy 169 in Edina
- Will be responsible for Same Day & Acute Care in an outpatient setting
- Full time position
- 8 hour shifts. Generally Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm
- No call
- Team currently consists of 22 Internal Medicine providers
- Supportive and collaborative provider group
- Focused on provider well-being and having a work-life balance
- EMR: Excellian is one of the most comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) systems in the nation.
Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty.
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care for patients
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined.
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
- Participates in health care team
- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
- Acts as resource to members of the team.
- Works with primary care team for program development.
- Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
- Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years experience as an NP, preferred in Primary Care.
- Certified/licensed Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP)
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 180 Days
- Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire
- Medium Work*: Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range: $53.11 to $73.49 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
