Location: New York City
- Hybrid (3-4 days in office)
Salary: $200k - $230k base
About the Role:
A leading multinational bank is searching for an Executive Director to lead tax initiatives. In this role, you will manage and oversee all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for U.S. and Canada operations. You will work with various teams and senior management, ensuring timely reporting of tax returns, tax compliance, manage the compliance team, and collaborate with additional departments. The ideal candidate for this position has a Master's degree and/or CPA and a thorough understanding of tax as it relates to banking institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee tax compliance, tax provisions, and client information reporting.
- Manage compliance team to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns including federal, state and indirect taxes.
- Calculate and review deferred tax asset schedules.
- Assist with external tax examinations.
- Collaborate with the global tax team and other departments.
- Manage effective tax rates and identify and implement process improvements.
Qualifications:

- CPA and/or Master of Tax Accounting preferred.
- Master's degree or professional certification (CPA, CFA).
- 5+ years in banking or Big 4 public accounting, if covering banking clients.
- Subject matter expert in Tax, specific to Banking.
- Knowledge of tax aspects related to US branches of international businesses.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing interest allocation, cross-branch financial flows, technical tax research and automation, and international tax compliance.
- Working knowledge of U.S. tax concepts such as base erosion rules, interest expense, Anti-abuse Tax, NECI and ECI concepts.
- Regional traveling up to 15%.
