Position Overview
The Ethics & Compliance Training Specialist will partner with department leaders in Ethics & Compliance, Human Resources, Marketing, and Communications to oversee and execute the essential Ethics & Compliance training and education program. This role involves developing, implementing, refining, and monitoring the effectiveness of various training modules and projects. The specialist will also manage awareness campaigns, supervise the quarterly ethics & compliance newsletter, and ensure that compliance materials such as notices, brochures, and placards are accurate and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement engaging training programs on ethics and compliance topics, including the code of conduct, fraud regulations, misconduct prevention, and conflict of interest.
Collaborate with ethics & compliance leaders and other departments to guarantee that training content meets legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
Adopt a comprehensive approach to ethics and training communications, applying adult learning principles to engage employees effectively.
Create and execute a strategic training and communications plan, detailing messaging, positioning, and operational tactics.
Analyze data from internal reporting systems to identify key training themes and develop tailored education materials.
Work with subject matter experts to generate compelling content, producing newsletters, training packages, and other communication tools, while continuously refining strategies based on feedback.
Evaluate the impact of training and communications to improve strategies and achieve desired outcomes.
Simplify complex information into clear, understandable content.
Stay updated on trends in ethics and compliance training, technologies, and health care regulations.
Develop and promote compliance communications and awareness initiatives to foster a culture of integrity.
Create and maintain training curricula, both online and instructor-led.
Serve as the Learning Management System administrator and subject matter expert for the ethics & compliance department.
Monitor mandatory training completion and maintain comprehensive records, providing reports to compliance managers as needed.
Oversee the publication of the quarterly ethics & compliance newsletter, including content development and collaboration with marketing staff for timely distribution.
Report any ethical concerns or compliance issues promptly.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer or Deputy Chief Compliance Officer.
This position is based at our Home Office in Birmingham, AL.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Healthcare Compliance or a similar professional certification is advantageous.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fields such as journalism, public relations, communications, or compliance is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
At least six (6) years of professional experience in training and/or communications.
Relevant experience in healthcare compliance communications and training is highly desirable.
Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms and intranet communication.
Experience in producing newsletters, email campaigns, and educational events.
Strong project management and change management capabilities.
Experience in developing training content using instructional design principles.
Knowledge of authoring tools is a plus.
Experience with learning management system administration is beneficial.
Familiarity with software for computer-based training, videoconferencing, and web platform development.
