Estimator - Heavy Civil

Job Description
Job Title: Heavy Civil Estimator
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Civil Estimator with a strong background in estimating projects involving excavation, earthwork, drainage, roadway construction, bridge construction, and other miscellaneous concrete structures. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of estimating experience within the heavy civil industry and possess a strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including sitework, grading, utilities, structures, and roadways.
  
• Review and analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and pricing.
  
• Develop quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment.
  
• Work closely with project management and operations teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of bids.
  
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  
• Utilize HCSS HeavyBid (highly preferred) or similar estimating software for project estimating and proposal preparation.
  
• Participate in project handoff meetings and provide support through bid award.
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience estimating heavy civil projects (earthwork, drainage, roadway, bridge, or concrete structures).
  
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid software is highly preferred.
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but not required.
