Tidelands Health is seeking a dynamic Epic Trainer. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering Epic training courses, with a strong focus on driving user adoption in clinical settings. Epic certification is highly desirable. This role requires a deep understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to develop and deliver training using multiple methods, including in-person, virtual, and e-learning platforms. The trainer will collaborate with clinical teams to ensure the effective adoption and utilization of Epic systems within these specialized service lines.
Essential Functions
- Design and deliver Epic training to clinical and administrative staff, including comprehensive training curricula, that is tailored to the specific needs of the Service Line
- Implement multi-modal training delivery methods, including classroom sessions, virtual instruction, self-paced learning modules, and hands-on simulations
- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions that enhance the learners' understanding of Epic workflows and functionality
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess and adjust training materials according to user needs and clinical workflows, ensuring that the content is relevant and addresses real-world scenarios
- Provide ongoing support for post-training, including answering questions, offering refresher courses, and troubleshooting issues with the Epic system
- Track and evaluate learner progress, adoption rates, and competency in using the Epic system
- Stay updated on Epic upgrades, enhancements, and best practices to incorporate these changes into training materials to ensure users are always utilizing the most current functionality
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the service line/Epic focus area, providing guidance and recommendations to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and delivering software training curriculum for healthcare systems required
- Proven experience in developing training curricula and instructional materials tailored to healthcare operations required
- 7 or more years of experience designing and delivering software training curriculum for healthcare systems is preferred
- 5 or more years of training Epic workflows preferred
- Experience in change management and user adoption strategies preferred
License/Certification
- Certified in the designated service line modules; must complete certification within 3 months of hire if need multiple certifications, then must complete each within 3 months (ex: if need 2, then complete back to back within 6 months total).

- EPIC Modules: Stork, Willow, and Orders
- Specialty Area: Radiology, Cardiology, and Surgical Services
- EPIC Modules: Radiant, Cupid, or Optime/Anesthesia
- Specialty Area: Provider Efficiency, Workflows, and Reporting
- EPIC Modules: Provider Adoption, Reporting, and MyChart
- Specialty Area: Acute Care Operations
- EPIC Modules: Acute Care Operations
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to apply them in diverse training environments.
- Ability to analyze feedback and make improvements to training programs.
Knowledge of clinical workflows
