- Has experience working with communities to assess and develop industrial pretreatment programs and limits
Main responsibilities:
- Under limited supervision, develop industrial pretreatment programs and industrial discharge limits, as defined by 40 CFR 403, for municipal clients throughout the Country.
- Conduct studies, develop technical documentation and provide procedures adequate to protect Publicly Owned Treatment Works.
- Consult with POTWs during development of Control Mechanisms and assist in the promulgation of local regulatory authority.
- Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all studies and designs.
- Performs site evaluations, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with client and local needs.
- Contributes to firms Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
- Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
- Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
- Meets with current and potential clients to review their current and future design needs.
- Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firms technical prowess in the industry and advance ones own network and knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in 3D and 4D Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) tools and workflows, with a strong focus on emerging technologies and industry best practices. Understanding of engineering design principles, with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical, real-world solutions. Strong command of Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and related business productivity tools, to support data analysis, documentation, and collaboration. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
