Lab Assistant

Actalent Scientific is looking for a Lab Assistant for a leading Diagnostics company, based in Agoura Hills. This is a fulltime, long-term position with opportunity for growth. Entry level position- great way to gain lab experience. Pay will range from $19-21/hr based on shift.

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play an essential role in clinical lab science within a high-volume, production-based environment. This position is pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate specimen processing, contributing directly to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Perform data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties.
• Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
• Attention to detail with prioritization and multitasking abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous medical/lab or production experience preferred.
• Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations.
• Experience with specimen processing, accessioning, and sample handling.
• Knowledge of quality assurance documentation and compliance standards (CLIA, CAP).
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
