Energy Engineer

As an Energy Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting energy efficiency programs for commercial buildings across various utility clients. Your responsibilities will include conducting site assessments, identifying opportunities for energy upgrades, collaborating with HVAC subcontractors, and developing detailed scopes of work. You'll also evaluate contractor bids, assist in equipment selection, and work closely with architects and engineers to define building specifications. This is an office-based role focused on design engineering and blueprint review, rather than on-site construction management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support energy efficiency initiatives for commercial buildings.
• Conduct facility inspections to identify energy-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with HVAC subcontractors to select appropriate upgrade equipment.
• Develop comprehensive scopes of work based on site assessments.
• Evaluate contractor bids for fairness and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to establish building specifications.
• Manage projects from an office setting, emphasizing design and blueprint analysis.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in energy efficiency retrofits, specifically with rooftop units (RTUs).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including split systems, boilers, chillers, insulation, and electrical components.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information to engineers and subcontractors.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in mechanical design or contracting.
• Proficiency in mechanical engineering principles and energy efficiency strategies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
