Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with a current WA or compact license, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either ENPC or PALS for night shifts in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Emergency Room of an acute care hospital
• Standard ER patient population, including trauma, psych, fast track, and occasional OB emergencies
• 3 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend or every third weekend required
• Floating may be required across ED and inpatient units
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4
• Unit includes 2 trauma rooms and 11 exam rooms, 4 of which are fast track
• Cerner Millennium charting system is used
• Responsibilities include care for trauma, psych, medical, and fast track ER patients
• Staffing includes an ER physician 24/7 and a PA from 2 PM onward
• Support from nurse aides and respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Holiday coverage is included in the staff rotation
• Orientation includes 2-3 floor-specific shifts

Requirements

• Current WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Experience with ventilators for patient stabilization prior to ICU transfer
• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
