Emergency Room Technical Assistant

As an Emergency Room Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider, you will support clinical functions, assist with patient care based on individual needs, and help ensure efficient department operations. Midnight shift - 7:00 pm - 7:30 am.
Responsibilities:
- Assist nursing staff and providers in delivering direct patient care within the scope of training and hospital policy.
- Obtain vital signs, assist with procedures, perform EKGs, and maintain patient safety and comfort.
- Transport patients and specimens as needed.
- Maintain clean and stocked patient care areas and equipment.
- Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Respond to emergency situations under supervision.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient flow and care delivery.
Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period.
- One (1) of the following:
- Valid Basic Emergency Medical Technician (B-EMT) certification.
- Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant program.
- Completion of a formal nursing or medical doctor education program.
- OR one (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant.
- EMT license.
