Electrical Engineer Intern - Solar Power

As a Summer Intern at Black & Veatch in Overland Park, Kansas, you will help address some of the worlds most pressing infrastructure challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects to meet our clients needs and contribute to the growth and success of Black & Veatch. You will be assigned to a functional area in Solar Power.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of electrical engineering deliverables like reports, drawings, specifications, and studies
• Assist with the engineering analyses, designs, and report production
• Collaborate with other disciplines and schedule project deliverables
• Organize and evaluate data, utilizing computer modeling to analyze systems
• Organize project materials, references, and documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant coursework or knowledge in Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations
• Understanding of engineering design principles and design guides
• Problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and the ability to build relationships
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Minimum Qualifications:

• No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Electrical Engineering program. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment:

This intern position is expected to be in the office on a full-time basis.
