Electrical Ammonia Refrigeration Technician - $42 to $44 hourly - 1st shift
This full-time, permanent Electrical Ammonia Refrigeration Technician position is a unique opportunity to join a century-old, rapidly expanding manufacturing company renowned for its commitment to employee well-being and safety. Compensation: $87,000.00 - $91,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing routine and preventive maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and controls associated with industrial refrigeration units.
- Conducting safety inspections and complying with all safety regulations and programs related to the industry and personal safety.
- Maintaining and repairing all related industrial maintenance equipment throughout the facility.
- Assisting in facility maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Documenting maintenance activities and generating reports on system performance and issues.
- Continuous learning and upgrading of skills, including obtaining necessary certifications.
- Two or more years of refrigeration maintenance experience, specifically with ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Two or more years of solid electrical experience in an industrial setting.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- A solid work history demonstrating reliability and a commitment to workplace safety.
- Must be a US citizen or hold a Green Card, residing within 45 minutes of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
- Physical ability to work in an industrial environment which includes lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in varying temperatures.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- An active RETA certification is highly desirable but not required.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations pertaining to ammonia refrigeration.
- Advanced technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical systems, or mechanical maintenance.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within a team environment.
- High attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
- Proactive in identifying potential issues and preventative maintenance needs.
