Summary

Responsible for performance of quality Echo and Vascular procedures and all related activities such as processing of reports and patient education. The Technologist is responsible for performing Echocardiography and/or Vascular Ultrasonography examinations utilizing various imaging equipment. The Echo/Vascular technologist mentors other ultrasound technologists, performing Echo/vascular procedures, to ensure quality of procedures performed within the department. The Technologist communicates procedure diagnostic information to physician(s). The Technologist contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring the quality of continuity of patient care. This role requires on-site presence to perform the essential job functions.

Job Description:

Responsible for performance of quality Echo and Vascular procedures and all related activities such as processing of reports and patient education. The Technologist is responsible for performing Echocardiography and/or Vascular Ultrasonography examinations utilizing various imaging equipment. The Echo/Vascular technologist mentors other ultrasound technologists, performing Echo/vascular procedures, to ensure quality of procedures performed within the department. The Technologist communicates procedure diagnostic information to physician(s). The Technologist contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring the quality of continuity of patient care. This role requires on-site presence to perform the essential job functions. This position is on an as needed basis and there is no guarantee of the number of work hours.

Minimum Requirements:

* Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or * Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Cardiac Sonographers (RCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS), or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) via Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or * Radiology Technologist in Vascular Sonography - RT (VS) via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

* Basic Life Support (BLS) via the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.

* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) via American Heart Association within 90 days of hire may be required based on specialty area.
