The Director Of Organization Effectiveness & Change Leadership is responsible for driving organizational transformation, change leadership, and business activation across a wide portfolio of programs and internal customer groups. This role partners with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to design and implement strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness, enable the realization of strategic initiatives, and activate business capabilities. The director will approach each customer interaction with genuine curiosity and attentive listening, seeking to understand their unique perspectives, needs, and challenges. The role will also be responsible for monitoring and advising on robust organizational systems that drive efficiency, adaptability, and measurable business outcomes, with particular emphasis on leading complex technology transformations and building organizational digital capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to support organizational development, change leadership, and business activation in alignment with organizational priorities, including comprehensive digital transformation roadmaps
  • Lead the development and implementation of change management plans for strategic initiatives across diverse programs and customer groups, with particular focus on complex technology implementations and digital adoption strategies
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify, prioritize, and resource key initiatives, establishing metrics to measure progress and success of organizational, business, and technology transformation efforts
  • Approach each customer interaction with genuine curiosity and attentive listening, seeking to understand their unique perspectives, needs, and challenges, while asking thoughtful questions and providing space for them to fully express themselves
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and employees on change management principles and practices, including digital literacy development and technology adoption strategies
  • Lead project teams in implementing change initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and change readiness assessments for large-scale technology transformations
  • Drive enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations, cloud migrations, automation programs, and digital platform integrations
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to drive continuous improvement and optimize business processes, leveraging digital technologies and data analytics
  • Ensure effective activation of business initiatives, including risk identification, mitigation strategies, and stakeholder communication for technology-driven changes
  • Foster an environment conducive to successful organizational change delivery, including clarity of services, priorities, and partnerships
  • Facilitate design and implementation of scalable systems that enhance cross-functional collaboration, information flow, and decision-making processes through technology enablement
  • Support the definition of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of organizational systems and their impact on business results, including technology adoption metrics and digital maturity assessments
  • Lead the integration of new technologies and tools to support and enhance organizational systems, ensuring seamless adoption and sustained utilization
  • Oversee complex technology transformation programs from conception through implementation, including vendor management, system integration, and user adoption strategies
  • Design and execute digital readiness assessments and capability building programs to ensure organizational preparedness for technology changes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational psychology, or related field; master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in organization effectiveness, change leadership, strategy realization, and business activation, with at least 7 years of demonstrated success leading complex technology transformation initiatives
  • Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide digital transformation programs, including ERP implementations, cloud migrations, automation initiatives, or large-scale technology platform changes
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams in technology-driven environments
  • Proven experience leading large-scale organizational change initiatives across diverse programs and customer groups, with particular expertise in technology adoption and digital transformation
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing organizational systems that drive business performance through technology enablement
  • Advanced digital literacy and technology transformation expertise, including experience with change management for complex technology implementations
  • Experience with organizational design methodologies and their application in complex business environments, particularly during technology transitions
  • Knowledge of systems thinking and its application to organizational effectiveness and technology integration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making, including proficiency with advanced analytics tools and platforms
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with specific experience in technology project management frameworks
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of organizational performance drivers in digital transformation contexts
  • Change management certification (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) preferred; technology project management certifications (PMP, Agile, etc.) highly valued

Digital Transformation Leadership: Proven expertise in leading complex technology transformation initiatives, including strategic planning, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and sustainable adoption strategies for enterprise-wide technology changes.

Digital Literacy and Capability Building: Advanced skills in assessing organizational digital maturity, designing comprehensive digital skills development programs, and implementing technology adoption strategies across diverse workforce populations.

Culture Transformation: Aligns leadership vision and business strategy with values, mindsets, and behaviors, with particular expertise in fostering digital-first cultures and technology adoption mindsets.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position $138,800 - $231,300
