Lakewood, CO (Hybrid 3 days/week in-office) | $100,000 - $110,000 + up to 20% bonus | 20% travel
Robert Half is recruiting for our client, a multi-brand organization seeking a Director of Shipping & Logistics . This role is ideal for a seasoned logistics leader with deep expertise in freight, parcel, LTL, and last-mile delivery operations. Youll own strategy, pricing, and vendor management while leading a small team and partnering cross-functionally to drive efficiency, profitability, and growth.
What Youll Do
- Strategy & Execution
- Lead operational strategy for freight, LTL, FTL, and parcel services across multiple brands
- Optimize pricing models to improve margin and competitiveness
- Identify opportunities for efficiency, margin improvement, and process standardization
- Vendor & Carrier Management
- Build and manage national and regional carrier relationships
- Negotiate carrier agreements including pricing, service levels, and incentives
- Monitor carrier performance, metrics, and resolve disputes
- Team & Brand Support
- Lead a small internal team focused on logistics operations
- Provide guidance and best practices to brand teams and franchise owners
- Serve as escalation point for complex operational issues
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Sales, and Marketing on pricing and promotions
- Support integration of logistics offerings into broader digital platforms
- Collaborate with international teams on global freight initiatives
- Analytics & Reporting
- Build and manage dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking
- Provide executive reporting on cost trends, service quality, and vendor results
What You Bring
- 10+ years in logistics, freight, or parcel shipping operations (including LTL and last-mile)
- Strong knowledge of pricing models, cost analysis, and carrier negotiations
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Analytical mindset with ability to build dashboards and track KPIs
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree or certifications (CLTD, CSCP, etc.) preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to travel ~20% to carrier partners, meetings, and field operations
