Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Radiology team. This role is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related procedures. The position requires ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration and proven clinical expertise in performing sonographic exams.

Key Responsibilities

n
• n

  Prepare for examinations by reviewing orders, patient schedules, and ensuring equipment and supplies are ready.

  n
n
• n

  Program and adjust ultrasound scanners for specific procedures; capture complete imaging from all necessary angles.

  n
n
• n

  Apply cognitive sonographic skills to accurately identify, record, and adapt imaging procedures to the patient's needs.

  n
n
• n

  Exercise independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathological findings.

  n
n
• n

  Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure, explaining processes and answering questions.

  n
n
• n

  Determine which images to capture for physician review.

  n
n
• n

  Maintain accurate records within the electronic health record (EHR) system, including patient charges.

  n
n
• n

  Perform IV insertions for contrast studies.

  n
n
• n

  Assist with scheduling patients and verifying prior authorizations.

  n
n
• n

  Keep knowledge current through ongoing education, networking, and professional development.

  n

• n

  Follow all safety and infection control protocols.

  n
n
• n

  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses

n
• n

  Associate's Degree in Applied Science.

  n
n
• n

  Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.

  n
n
• n

  RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification (or equivalent).

  n
n
• n

  BLS certification (American Heart Association).

  n
n

Experience

n
• Minimum 3+ years of sonography experience in abdomen/small parts, OB/GYN, and vascular imaging.
n

Preferred

n
• RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) credential
n
