Job Description
nGENERAL PURPOSE
nMaintain the location’s interior and/or exterior in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner (e.g., offices, warehouses, plant/manufacturing areas).
nJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
n· Maintain a safe and clean internal building appearance through good housekeeping, organization, and management of walking surfaces
n· Follow work schedules to complete all required cleaning and sanitizing, and complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
n· Perform custodian duties, such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, picking up debris, emptying trash cans and recycling, and general cleaning; these activities may include using equipment such as floor sweepers, polishers, vacuum cleaners, and dusters
n· Maintain all restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, and footbaths in a sanitary manner; replenish supplies and paper products in break room and restrooms
n· Maintain inventory of cleaning and other supplies; notify appropriate contact or update supply sheet to re-order supplies
n· Maintain cleanliness and safety of exterior of building; maintain outdoor facilities and grounds, which may involve operating a variety of power equipment for general grounds maintenance
n· Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
n· Use chemicals to sanitize and clean the facility
n· Perform related duties as requested by environmental health and safety (EHS), maintenance, management, or other staff members (e.g., help to coordinate and/or prepare for inspections and special events)
n· Distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed
n· Follow all safety requirements and wear proper PPE
n· Implement all DFA GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. Inform QA personnel of any quality issues

nRequirements
nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
n· High school diploma or equivalent
n· Janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
n· Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
n· Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
n· Able to work safely and follow established policies and procedures
n· Able to follow directions and carry out instructions with little supervision
n· Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
n· Able to perform simple math
n· Must be able to read, write and speak English
