Controller

This position is responsible for the financial operations of two large-volume companies. You will work closely with the CEO and the Vice President of Finance to develop, establish, and enforce proper accounting methods and policies. You will provide guidance and leadership to staff while ensuring all deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support business growth.
• Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Work closely with leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
• Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple states.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team.
• Work and interact effectively with all levels of staff and management, including other departments.

Essential Skills

• Advanced level knowledge in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with accounting system software.
• Ability to make timely decisions and adapt to change.
• Excellent communication and data entry skills.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an organization with high-volume transactions and 300+ employees.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification or candidates in the process of acquiring their CPA certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with commercial real estate businesses is preferable.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with multi-state financial operations is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (currently implementing Workday).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.

This role is 100% onsite during the 1st shift, with potential flexibility on start time. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $180000.00/yr. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education. Comprehensive benefits package.
