Location: Franklin, TN
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Weekly Compensation: Up to $1,950/week (based on experience)

Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) plays a crucial role in the operating room by supporting the surgeon throughout all phases of the surgical process-preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative. This professional provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions to ensure optimal surgical outcomes and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Organize time, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for each surgical case.
Assess the patient's surgical site in the Pre-Op Holding area to aid in positioning.
Facilitate safe positioning of patients based on the surgeon's preference and patient's condition.
Assist circulators and anesthesia providers with patient preparation, including Foley catheter placement, tourniquet application, IV placement, and other necessary procedures.
Perform tasks under surgeon supervision such as incision and layered closure of surgical sites, exposure, and achieving hemostasis.
Manipulate and dissect tissues and assist with implanting, securing, or removing devices and drains.
Apply surgical dressings, splints, or casts and assess skin integrity post-operation.
Transfer patients and assist in recovery when needed.
Maintain sterile and aseptic technique at all times according to surgical standards.
Help manage inventory, update physician preference cards, and maintain clinical knowledge of current procedures.
Participate in cleaning and turnover of OR and Procedure Room between cases.
Perform additional duties as delegated by the surgeon or Clinical Director.

Education & Certification Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required
CPR certification required
Previous First Assist experience or one year of Scrub Tech experience required
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA )
Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA )
Surgical Assistant-Certified (SA-C )

ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) experience preferredQualifications:

Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with co-workers, managers, physicians, and patients.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive image of the facility at all times.Working Conditions:

Work performed in a well-lit, well-ventilated operating room with complex equipment.
