Job Summary
The Computed Tomography Technologist performs essential diagnostic CT scans, producing high-quality images while applying professional judgment during procedures. Patient care is paramount, and you will initiate life support measures as required. Effective communication with patients, physicians, family members, and other healthcare workers is vital.
As a CT Technologist, you will possess the skills necessary to operate CT equipment and produce quality scans. Your role may include training new employees and enhancing the personalized treatment and care provided to patients by gathering essential information.
Your understanding of patients' physical and emotional conditions will be critical in working with diverse age groups.
At Sanford Rural Network Facilities, responsibilities may expand based on facility needs, including on-call rotations during nights, weekends, and holidays. Duties may also involve performing diagnostic radiology procedures, mobile imaging, EKGs, cardiac monitor placements, and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
- CT training or experience is preferred.
- ARRT certification must be obtained at the time of hire.
- CT certification is preferred within two years for DICOE and ACR accreditation.
- Licensure through the North Dakota NDMIRT Board is required if working in North Dakota.
- CT certification is required within 24 months of hire in Aberdeen, SD.
- A permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health is mandatory for Iowa positions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and IV certification within six weeks of employment are required.
