What You’ll Do

As a Commissioning Engineer at ABM, you’ll be the go-to expert for commissioning medium voltage systems and equipment. You’ll ensure everything is running safely, smoothly, and efficiently—right from the start.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Be a daily champion of safety and human performance improvement (HPI).
• Lead Job Hazard Analyses with your team to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Verify function and proper operation of medium voltage powerline carrier equipment, DFRs, and RTUs.
• Commission SEL and GE microprocessor relays with confidence and accuracy.
• Support RTU upgrade projects and deliver clear, detailed test reports.
• Interpret complex electrical diagrams and flag any discrepancies.
• Keep your time, expenses, and company vehicle in top condition.

What You Bring:

• 4+ years of experience in electrical testing, with a focus on protection and control systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred
• Hands-on experience with SEL, GE, ABB, and Westinghouse relays.
• Familiarity with test equipment like Doble 6150, Omicron CT Analyzer, Vanguard CT 2000C, and more.
• Proficiency in test software such as, ProTest, or Protection Suite.
• Experience developing commissioning test plans 
• Strong understanding of NERC PRC-005-6 and safe work practices in high-voltage substations.
