Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role as a caregiver to residents in long-term care. You will provide compassionate, resident-centered care under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). This role involves understanding and delivering appropriate care tailored to the physical and psychological needs of residents as per their individual care plans.

As an essential member of the nursing team, you will be accountable for adhering to infection prevention protocols and correctly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include:

• Assisting residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Obtaining and recording vital signs while providing psychosocial support.
• Facilitating resident mobility through transfer and walking assistive techniques.
• Supporting meal preparation and creating a positive dining experience for residents.
• Documenting resident care activities and communicating any changes to the charge nurse.
• Providing general housekeeping and laundry services to maintain cleanliness in resident areas.
• Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
• Minimum age of 16 with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• State-certified CNA certification required within four months of hire; training will be provided by the facility.
• Must complete yearly competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education, with 12 hours required annually.
• Possession of a valid driver's license may be necessary for certain responsibilities.
