Clinical Nurse III - Med/Surg Float Pool (Weekends Only)

Position Overview: The Clinical Nurse III will implement physician orders, perform treatments, and collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive care plans. This role requires sound nursing judgment and the ability to provide primary and emergency care for a variety of conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and document treatments according to policies and regulations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess and identify patients' conditions effectively.
• Evaluate patient needs and responses to care and adjust as necessary.
• Utilize sound nursing judgment in managing patient care.
• Provide emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including over-the-counter and prescription medications.
• Work collaboratively with the nursing team to establish a comprehensive Plan of Care for each patient.
• Guide and supervise ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is necessary and must be maintained.
• 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with quality concepts and problem-solving techniques useful for quality improvement in patient care.
