Class A CDL Truck Operator

Clean Harbors is actively seeking a talented Class A CDL Truck Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate various heavy and light-duty trucks and equipment at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, roll-offs, vans, and trailers. You will be instrumental in driving and performing essential tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up.

• Join a Union Shop!
• Monday through Friday work schedule, starting at 7 am
• Expect to work typically 10-14 hours a day
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are required
• Touch freight handling is necessary
• Some overnight travel may be required
• Must maintain a clean-shaven appearance to wear a full-face respirator as needed
• Clean driving record is mandatory: no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, no DUI/DWI in the past 3 years, and no preventable accidents in the last year

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize health and safety by adhering to all safe work practices and policies
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers in a collaborative work environment
• Efficiently drive a variety of Class A vehicles
• Handle the loading and unloading of trucks
• Engage in manual labor on-site to meet customer needs
• Ensure proper placarding of vehicles to comply with Company and DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate daily logs, time sheets, and reports
• Follow all local, state, and federal regulations
• Operate vehicles safely in alignment with U.S. DOT and other guidelines
• Observe and abide by all corporate policies concerning environmental health and safety
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Be available for on-call emergency responses on a rotating basis
• Participate in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL
• Able to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of hire
• Proficient with various mobile devices
• Capable of performing physically demanding tasks as required
• Successfully complete background checks, drug tests, and a physical examination
• Comply with OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard regarding facial hair requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a commercial driver
• Possession of Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
• Previous hazmat handling experience
• Capability to operate a manual transmission
• Prior experience in manual labor
