Be a part of our dynamic Emergency Department serving pediatric patients in a Peds Level 2 trauma center!

Work Hours: 1:30 PM to 11:30 PM, four days a week. We are open to discussing flexible options for coverage and work-life balance.

Qualifications:

• Completion of Child Life internship required.

Job Summary

As a Child Life Specialist, you will:

• Develop and implement engaging and therapeutic play activities for pediatric patients and their families.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to create appropriate interventions that support children's well-being.
• Utilize your expertise in child development to minimize distress and foster resilience.
• Oversee the use of volunteers in the Child Life department.
• Stay informed about medical diagnoses and procedures relevant to child patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Human Development, or a related field.
• Child Life internship must be completed or nearly completed prior to hire.
• Preferred experience: two years working with children in various age groups, particularly in therapeutic settings.
• Certification as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS) is required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of hire.
