Job Summary
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (NA), you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to residents in our long-term care facility during your scheduled shifts. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering personalized nursing care based on residents' physical and psychological needs, as outlined in care plans.
- Assisting residents with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, and gathering non-invasive body fluid specimens.
- Facilitating safe transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Preparing meals and assisting with dining, ensuring a positive experience for residents.
- Documenting resident care interactions and communicating any changes in conditions to the charge nurse.
- Providing basic housekeeping and laundry services to maintain cleanliness and comfort in resident areas.
- Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs.
This position is essential to our nursing team, and you will be expected to adhere to infection prevention policies and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16; prior experience in long-term care is a plus.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required within four months of starting, training provided by the facility.
- Annual completion of 12 hours of continuing education and competency testing required.
Depending on specific responsibilities, this role may require a valid driver’s license and meeting certain medical qualifications.
