GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Cashier Team Leader is key in ensuring efficient guest transactions and maintaining cashwrap standards that showcase cleanliness and aesthetics. With expertise in cashiering, you'll mentor new cashiers and help train other staff members, driving performance and loyalty through exceptional service and operational excellence.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions)
The Team Leader embodies Ulta Beauty's mission and values while performing the following:
- Achieve or surpass store sales targets related to service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
- Provide exceptional service and a welcoming environment for each guest; greet, engage, and personalize their experience.
- Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
- Coordinate guest services such as makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance the shopping experience.
- Book and support appointments and in-store events to create memorable customer experiences while meeting sales goals.
- Maintain cashwrap displays and ensure readiness for guests.
- Punctual and regular attendance is expected.
PEOPLE
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere for teammates and guests alike.
- Assist leadership by completing cashier chats and associate exit inspections.
- Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge to better serve guests.
- Promote the benefits of our guest loyalty program and drive enthusiasm among team members.
- Help train new cashiers and facilitate cross-training.
- Exemplify strong leadership skills by engaging peers for optimum performance.
- Ensure accountability in delivering a personalized Ulta Beauty experience that aligns with our standards.
- Participate in ongoing training for professional development and improving sales performance.
- Collaborate proactively with store managers and associates to grow the business.
PROCESS
- Understand and comply with Ulta Beauty's policies and standards.
- Adhere to the company's dress code.
- Ensure accurate transaction processing, including guest returns and cash control.
- Complete designated register open and close functions efficiently.
- Maintain high store standards and cleanliness throughout all areas.
- Protect company assets by following all safety and loss prevention procedures.
- Execute other tasks as needed to support operations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school diploma preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.
- Strong ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
- Passion for guest service and proven sales competency.
- Experience in handling guest concerns professionally.
- A track record of exceeding sales goals and training others.
Skills:
- Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale systems).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Skilled in building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Confident in handling pressure and ambiguous situations.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to hold this role.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Continuous movement throughout the store during shifts.
- Frequent physical activities such as bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Ongoing coordination and manipulation of objects.
