Schedule: Full-Time Nights 36 hours/week

Shift: 12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM7:15 AM

Every Other Weekend Required

Overview

Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care, including Children's at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services as well as heart and vascular care.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed all-private suite hospital, was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, plus critical care.

Four South

Provides Progressive Care for patients as defined by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Over 95% of patients on Four South require telemetry monitoring, performed according to hospital protocols and standards set by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine.

Role Purpose

Under the direction of the manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates, and documents the nursing process of the assigned unit as needed.

Responsibilities

Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization to discharge and into the ambulatory setting

Critically assesses patient data to proactively mitigate changes in condition and consults with the interprofessional team as needed

Leads development and implementation of complex care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the care team and patient/family

Champions evidence-based practices and scientific inquiry (e.g., journal clubs, practice changes, literature reviews, continuing education)

Explores opportunities to advance nursing practice through community service, education, and leadership roles

Analyzes gaps in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership

Leads evaluation of patient and family experience and adjusts care to improve satisfaction and quality

Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Nursing

Experience: 25 years

Supervisor Experience: None required

Licenses & Certifications: RN

Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing
