Job Details

The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a Bus Driver - Hourly Position to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing and challenging classroom environment devoted to helping all students reach their full potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transport children and other passengers to and from school.
Learn bus route.
Understand and obey all traffic laws.
Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times.
Ensure the safety of all students.
Discipline children as needed to maintain a safe environment.
Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
Attend safety meetings as required.

START:

SALARY:
$25.23 - $28.43* Incremental increase depending on relevant driving experience

Attendance Incentive : Drivers absent 3 times or less (personal or sick) in each 2 month period over the school year will receive an attendance bonus as follows:
Absent 0-1 days = $200
Absent 2-3 days = $150
CDL Differential : Valid CDL B license holders who accept CDL Class B assignments are eligible for an end of year differential of $550 (pro-rated for drivers working less than the full school year and/or only working 1 shift).

Eligibility requirements: Health insurance is available to eligible drivers who work 30 or more hours per work week, on as-needed basis.
