ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Drives a school bus safely and professionally.
- Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspections.
- Reports any mechanical defect to immediate superior.
- Checks and fills vehicle with fuel.
- Instructs or informs passengers about safety practices when entering and/or leaving bus.
- Maintains orderly conduct of passengers while on bus.
- May clean interior and exterior of assigned vehicle.
- May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicle.
- May be required to administer first aid to passengers injured on bus.
- May install and remove tire chains when necessary.
- Complies with all traffic ordinances.
- Complies with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation.
- Participates in on-site training.
- Shows proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus.
- Dust chairs, tables, desks, and other furniture.
- Wash windows, walls, woodwork, bathrooms, tubs, and bowls.
- Gather and dispose of refuse.
- Clean and polish furniture.
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors, clean blackboards and erasers, and perform other cleaning duties.
- Perform maintenance on automotive vehicle and/or buildings and grounds.
- Perform simple clerical tasks such as filing, sorting and/or printing of various material.
