Billing/Collections Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Billing and Collections Specialist for a direct hire opportunity based in Chicago. This role offers excellent hybrid flexibility and is located in a prime downtown area, making it ideal for professionals seeking both convenience and work-life balance.
We're looking for candidates with at least four years of experience in accounts invoicing and collections. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring billing processes are compliant and customer accounts are accurate.

• Rate: $24-$25/hr.
  
• Worksite Type: Hybrid (1-2 days in office-Loop)
  

Essential Functions:

• Generate invoices based on contracts, sales orders, or service agreements
  
• Responsible for payment collections to ensure all past due amounts are collected while preventing the aging of current balances
  
• Ensure timely distribution of invoices via email, mail, or client portals
  
• Ensure receivables are collected in a timely and efficient manner by taking proactive measures when necessary
  
• Document all collection activity and research efforts into the specified database
  
• Research and resolve problem arising from customers' billings invoices
  
• Performs daily and weekly credit cards receipt reconciliations
  
• Review and reconcile invoice data to ensure accuracy before distribution.
  
• Maintain organized records of all invoices, payments, and client communications for audit and reporting purposes
  
• Supports cash flow target by ensuring that all processes and procedures are completed
  
• Create weekly and monthly AR Aging Reports
  
• Assists in other accounting projects as needed
  

Qualifications:

• Four plus years of Accounts Receivable/ Collection experience
  
• Ability to communicate credit and collection activities in a written and verbal manner
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environment
  
• Strong analytical ability and detail-oriented aptitude
  
• Superb customer service skills
  
• Strong organization skills, time management and prioritization
