Overview: The Behavioral Health Therapist provides essential psychotherapy and social work services for patients and families facing mental health and substance use disorders, life stressors, crises, and stress-related physical symptoms. This role is pivotal in assisting with prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions. Under general supervision, you will conduct psychosocial assessments, design and implement treatment plans, and organize therapy sessions to support the recovery of patients dealing with behavioral health issues.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to gain a thorough understanding of a patient's diagnosis, illness, and treatment by exploring emotional, social, and environmental factors.
- Design and implement effective behavioral health treatment plans to aid patients in attaining optimal functioning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and relationships with community health and social agencies to enhance the behavioral health services offered to patients through collaboration and referrals.
- Educate patients and families about behavioral health treatment processes and options to empower their confidence and facilitate ongoing recovery after discharge.
- Document patient care and treatment responses accurately and promptly in medical records to monitor the recovery process.
- Advocate for patients during care provision to address potential ethical concerns and other risks.
- Utilize your expertise to review the work of junior colleagues and provide guidance as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION: Required: Masters or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
- EXPERIENCE: Required: 2 years of clinical experience
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Required: One or more of the following licensures: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHC), or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS)
