A Brief Overview

As a Behavioral Health Support Specialist, you will facilitate communication between nurses, counselors, and patients, assisting with their physical and psychological care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be accountable for your actions and the care delivered to patients.

What you will do

• Foster a positive work environment through effective communication.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, providing valuable input on patient behaviors.
• Implement suicide precautions as necessary.
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions or behaviors to the responsible RN or Counselor.
• Assist patients with daily living activities, including vital signs and specimen collection.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the patient's EMR.
• Identify and manage escalating behavioral changes in patients.
• Support the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.
• Assist with medication monitoring and education within the facility.
• Ensure the safe handling of patients' personal belongings.

Essential Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be capable of working the specified hours and effectively performing essential job functions. This includes having the necessary visual acuity and communication skills to engage with others. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Bachelor's degree.
