Visiting Faculty Position In Division Of Medical Physics And Engineering

This is a visiting faculty position within the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. The appointment will be at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in medical physics or a related field. They will work on projects including AI-driven image reconstruction, image registration, and image segmentation. The candidate will apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to solve challenges in today's image-guided radiation therapy, including real-time low-contrast liver tumor localization, automatic structure segmentation for online adaptive radiotherapy, and real-time MRI motion estimation and reconstruction.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is a leader in the development and clinical implementation of innovative treatment strategies. The department currently has a total of 22 MD and MD/Ph.D. physicians and 14 medical residents. The Division of Medical Physics and Engineering currently has 31 faculty-level physicists, 12 full-time dosimetrists, five research/service engineers, and many postdoctoral researchers and graduate students.

Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
