Aircraft Engine Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced F-18 E/F Aircraft/Engine Mechanic to provide organizational level support for the F414-GE-400 engine and general aircraft mechanic duties. The role involves conducting pre/post flight activities, servicing aircraft with engine oil and hydraulics, and performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, equipment, engines, components, and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre and post flight activities and inspections.
• Service aircraft with engine oil and hydraulics.
• Perform aircraft jacking evolutions.
• Understand and maintain engine fuel systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
• Utilize pneumatic tools and torque wrenches effectively.
• Remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds.
• Remove, replace, and check out aircraft components and assemblies.
• Understand and maintain hydraulic systems including primary, secondary, and emergency systems.
• Resolve technical problems and provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to O Level technicians.
• Familiarity with IETMs, NAMP 4790, and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.
• Generate written reports for management in support of contractual obligations.

Essential Skills:

• At least 3 years of F/A-18 E/F experience.
• Familiarity with F/A-18 inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
• Active secret DOD clearance.
• Comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules for customer maintenance requirements.
• Clear documentation of maintenance and repair actions.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, tool control, FOD control, and training requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong preference for candidates with experience supporting U.S. Navy F-18 squadrons on deployment.
• A&P License.
• Certification in seat removal.

Work Environment:

The role supports a Foreign Military Sales program in New Orleans, LA, at the NAS Joint Reserve Base. This is a non-deployable position with assignments available on both the first and night shifts. The work involves initial training and certification before hands-on aircraft duties.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
