Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive assessments, triage, and therapeutic management of patient and family needs as part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborate closely with attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) following state laws and hospital regulations, and participate in autonomous, team-based care.
• Take thorough medical histories, conduct physical examinations, review and order diagnostic tests, and formulate effective patient treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families about care processes and available resources, including treatment plans and discharge instructions in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
• Offer psychosocial support to patients, family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner as part of the interdisciplinary approach.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Critical care experience is preferred, but motivated new graduates will be considered with appropriate preparation.
• An active, unrestricted Connecticut medical license or in the process of obtaining it.
• ACLS/BLS certification as required.
• DEA License.
